2023 CRSG June Show & Sale Volunteering Opportunities
We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us with this year's 2023 June Show & Sale. Please read below of the various positions available and if interested, sign up here!
Planning Committee Volunteering Opportunities
Duties: To work out the marketing plan and media plan on how to promote the event and promote the artwork and the Artisan Market day of our members.
Estimated Time required: about a few hours per week, and maybe more when it gets closer to the event. And a full day on June 4th.
2. Graphic design and Social Media work (1-2)
Duties: Prepare artwork for event posters, flyers, signages, web pages, etc., anything that needs to be designed. Update CRSG Social Media platforms with marketing and notices.
Estimated time required: Varied
3. Members Art Show Artist Liaison (1)
Duties: To administer the applications for the Art Show, liaise with the participants, make sure they have submitted proper and enough information for the on-line show, coordinate the drop off and pick up of artwork for the actual exhibit at the gallery, and be the point of contact for all Art Show participants for the event.
Estimated time required: Few hours a week, and a full day on June 2nd and June 4th.
4. Artisans Market Vendors Liaison (1-2)
Duties: To administer the applications for the Artisans Market, liaise with the participants, make sure they have submitted enough information for the on-line promo, provide them with information on set up, floor plan etc., and be the point of contact for all Artisans Market participants for the event.
Estimated time required: Few hours a week, and a full day on June 4th.
5. Volunteers Coordinator (1-2)
Duties: To recruit volunteers for the event, liaise with them, assign them to group leads, record their hours, administer the volunteer database and be their point of contact.
Estimated time required: Few hours a week, and a full day on June 4th.
Task-based Volunteering Opportunities
The opportunities below will be required on the following days depending on your role:
- June 2nd, Friday – Members Art Show set up
- June 4th, 2023, Sunday – Artisans Market
- June 16th, Friday - Members Art Show tear down
June 2nd, 2023 (Friday), 1pm to 5pm
1. Members Art Show set up (4):
Duties: To help set up the Members Art Show exhibition at the gallery (Cedar Ridge Creative Centre, 225 Confederation Drive, Scarborough).
Note: Some heavy lifting, and will use ladders, hammers and nails.
June 4th, 2023 (Sunday), 8am to 5pm
2. Artisans Market set-up and tear-down, outdoors (8)
Note: Involve heavy lifting, the use of ladders, and lots of running around.
Where: Mostly outdoors
3. General Event Volunteers (8 - 10)
Duties: To maintain general crowd control, give directions to visitors, give general information of where activities are and keep venue clean.
To direct car traffic in and out of the Centre and in the parking lot, or redirect visitors to parking in the street, just to make sure that traffic is smooth and safe for all. To put up signage and decorations for the event both indoors and outdoors. Take down the same at the end of the event.
Conduct interactive games with visitors. Invite and guide them to participate in the games.
Note: Lots of standing and running around and talking to the public.
Where: Indoors or outdoors
4. CRSG Central Administration (2-4)
Duties: Set up and take down the Central booth, this is the headquarters, event managers’ station. Will need to take care of volunteers, participants, guests, etc. This is also the event information booth for visitors. Volunteers will also act as runners for event managers to communicate with all stations.
Note: May include some heavy lifting, some running around, and communicating.
Where: Outdoors under tent.
June 16th, 2023 (Friday) 9:30am to 1pm
5. Members Art Show tear down (1-2):
Duties: To help take down the Members Art Show exhibition at the gallery (Cedar Ridge Creative Centre, 225 Confederation Drive, Scarborough). To mend the holes on the wall and return the gallery in the default condition.
Note: May include some heavy lifting and use of ladders
Time: 9:30am to 1pm
