By Kay Minter
"Drawing a plant or part of a plant is meditative. It is a slow process that rewards you with the gift of often tiny but amazing details; in this case, the wee hairs on the stem and the tiny seeds, each curled up in a delicate yellow wrapper.
The Oxeye is hardy and easily grown in dry sites and clay soil as a showy garden perennial. It attracts hummingbirds in the summer and the goldfinch feed on the seed heads in late summer, autumn and through winter."
