As always I started painting without direction; what I felt was the usual freedom and the urge not to copy nature…. But the canvas has a mind of its own and as the painting progressed I found myself captured by the illusion of feathering forms. Shapes in my mind started to develop into an image of a pompous peacock with shiny large fans of colorful iridescent feather tails."
