"I started painting without direction; I then realized that the canvas had taken a direction of its own. The bright yellows and soft oranges in the surrounding black background started to speak to me; the colors were powerful and the strokes were crucial to this dramatic representation that brought back a memory of a long time ago; a memory of a sunset.
Now the rest was easy. I just let the subtle figure emerge."
